Congressional Predators

Congress has a predator problem. We are all familiar with the slush fund for paying harassment victims. This fund has been around for decades. Doing a basic internet search will pull up monsters like Dennis Hastert and many others. Recently, Representative Nancy Mace (R-SC) recently brought a poorly written bill to the floor regarding this fund, but if passed, it would have publicly identified the harassment victims. It was voted down and she was told why. If Representative Mace rewrites the bill protecting the identities of the victims, it would be sure to pass.

Former Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and current right wing media broadcast anchor resigned his seat to avoid the Ethics Committee Report regarding his drug and alcohol fueled partying with sugar babies including having relations with a then seventeen year old. He used Donald Trump attempting to appoint him to Attorney General as cover for his resignation. He had to withdraw his nomination because the report was coming out anyway and the Senate Judiciary Committee rather bluntly stated he was a nonstarter for the position.

House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) has been dodging accusations by Ohio State Wrestling Alumni for allegedly covering up abuse at the university. Jordan denies knowledge while former athletes state they went to him with the abuse allegations.

Tony Gonzales (R-TX) is the one who had an affair with a married staffer and mother who tragically committed suicide when the affair was found out by setting herself on fire. The lady set herself on fire begging she didn’t want to die. Her widower has since released text messages and other communications showing how Gonzales groomed and pressured her into an illicit relationship. Another Gonzales staffer has since come out with more examples of predatory behavior by the representative.

Gonzales is currently being investigated by the House Ethics Committee and being adamant in refusing to resign. The calls for his resignation are bipartisan.

A few weeks ago, education and political influencer Ms. Frazz brought up the allegations of predation and assault by Eric Swalwell (D-CA) on a staffer. Swalwell is in his 40s. The staffer was a very young 21.

Instead of properly addressing the allegations by taking responsibility, dropping his bid for California governor, resigning from the House of Representatives, and doing meaningful reparations with the staffer he harassed and abused, he chose to attack Ms. Frazz and others.

We are now finding out this staffer awoke in his hotel room after an event. She does not have memory of the night and felt the telltale after effects of vaginal penetrative sex. Her boyfriend at the time took her for pregnancy and STI infection testing. Her friends have corroborated these accounts from conversations from that time. This was a Friday news dump trying to hide the scandal. It should not be permitted to be hidden. We should apply just as much pressure to Swalwell as we are on Gonzales.

Predation is wherever there is an imbalance of power and there just might be a series highlighting documented powerful people with proven allegations coming soon. It depends on a lot of factors.
